Welcome to the Peak Lab.  A division of Peak Custom Fitness Solutions service umbrella, the Peak Lab offers premier testing and analysis to quantify client needs based upon science and data driven solutions.

“You can’t improve what you don’t measure.”

Health and performance training needs vary depending on current status, individual specific needs, health concerns, event / sport specific needs, and many more variables.  Transparent evaluation allows us to determine needs with clarity from objective assessments.  In an industry of opinions and studies of one, we want to take the guesswork out of physiology.

SERVICES

Metabolic Testing/Breath Analysis

Through non-invasive, clinical grade testing, clients can have an in-depth understanding of their health status and performance limiters.  PNOE metabolic / breath analyzer measures gas exchange (O2/CO2) to determine metabolic health and function, respiratory limitations in capacity / capability, and cardiovascular health markers.  A variety of test protocols can be used on various modes (treadmill / bike / rowing erg / etc.) to make testing specific to your needs.  From general health markers such as Resting Metabolic Rate, VO2 Max, and Fuel Crossover Point (HR) or performance metrics such as HR zone determination, Thresholds (AT1/2) and Respiratory Exchange Ratio (at various intensities), metabolic / breath testing provides accuracy for evaluation, clarity for training and nutrition needs, and science based proof of progress.

Metabolic testing can use a standard protocol or can be customized for your exercise needs to maximize your training, racing, or health improvement plan.

Gait Analysis

The PEAK Lab provides an in-depth look at your running technique.  Using both video capture and data recording from Run Scribe technology, we analyze your movement strategy and measure load, angles, force delivery, asymmetries, contact time, and more.  Gait analysis includes a movement assessment (non-running) and running test to evaluate your needs.  A second included appointment includes a specific prescription plan and running cues for optimal performance, injury risk reduction and improved economy.  Get your running on the right track today!

OVR Testing

The Peak Lab Engine Room is the ultimate diagnostic hub for athletes looking to take their performance to the next level.  Precision timing and sensor technology (OVR) captures performance metrics for agility and speed testing, strength and power output, and individual specific limiters for science driven training.  Whether you are evaluating current performance, setting future goals, assessing post injury return to play ability or directing training plans, the engine room is the cutting edge process for success.

Metrics and testing available:

  • 40 Yard Dash

  • 10 Yard Dash / Flying 10 / 20

  • Pro Agility / 5-10-5

  • Vertical Jump

  • Broad Jump

  • Rate of Force Production (plyos / lifts)

  • Ground Contact Time (plyos)

  • Other sport specific tests

Sweat Testing

Sodium, the main electrolyte lost in sweat, controls blood pressure and the fluid outside of cells. Potassium controls the fluid inside your cells, which is crucial for nerve and muscle function. Magnesium supports muscle relaxation, energy production, and nerve function. All of these must stay in balance for optimal performance. When too much fluid and electrolytes are lost through sweating, dehydration and electrolyte imbalance occur. This leads to decreased performance, muscle cramps, cognitive decline, overheating, and cardiovascular strain. Electrolytes are vital for performance because they maintain fluid balance, support muscle and nerve function, and enhance energy and recovery.
